Capture One Complete has developed the Universal Lens Calibrator to overcome many of the common problems inherent in all camera lenses.
Please note Capture One Pro 6 & 7 software is required to use the Universal Lens Calibrator and is not included in the kit.
Inspired by Phase One’s own Lens Cast Calibration Tool (designed to remove colour casts and light fall-off when using technical camera lenses with medium format digital backs), Capture One Complete has taken the concept a stage further and developed the Universal Lens Calibrator to resolve these and other problems with today’s lenses for all formats, from 35mm DSLRs through to technical cameras.
In addition the Universal Lens Calibrator can also be used as a white balance reference card and a dust removal tool!
Capture One Complete’s Universal Lens Calibrator works in conjunction with Phase One’s Capture One Pro software. Please note that both products are required.

A large proportion of my work involves studio room sets mostly shot on medium format prime lenses of 'standard' to short telephoto focal lengths. Since such lenses are less prone to vignetting or chromatic aberrations than wide angles or zooms I was sceptical as to whether I would see significant improvements using the Universal Lens Calibrator. How wrong I was. After a couple of initial tests I was convinced of the benefits. Not only does the calibrator deal with colour casts which can occur in certain fabrics and fringing in highlights of reflective objects or window lights, but it corrects light fall-off towards the edge of images which I wasn't even aware was happening. The result is a more even and vibrant spread of light with cleaner colours. I now use the ULC on almost every shoot.
