Fashion shoot with Nathan Damour IQ 180 "holy grail of digital backs"

Nathan Damour an up and coming Fashion Photographer with a unique style that has come from event Photography, Nathan has been a client for some years and he has been using a P25+ and has recently upgraded to a P45+ on the 645 DF system.

So when the opportunity to use an IQ 180 on a shoot he was doing in Manchester came up I went over and helped out.

The images Nathan was takeing were stuning and then even more stunning again because they were taken on the IQ 180.

The amazing image quality and detail from the IQ180 have also given Nathan a wealth of new creative possibilities. The vibrant touch screen makes it easier to instantly share images with the model and crew. Additionally, the high resolution of the digital back gives Nathan the freedom to crop close-ups and retain high image quality.

Welcome to an insight into one of my fashion shoots. The purpose of this shoot was to put on test the IQ180, Phase One's flagship 80 megapixel digital back.I have a good working relationship with my Phase One dealer Chris Ireland at Direct Digital Imaging, so I'm always keeping him up to date with my activities. I mentioned I was in the process of organising some fashion test shoots and he suggested I should try out the new IQ180 digital back. Well of course I jumped at this dream opportunity, whilemuttering the words, " wow, are you serious?"It has to be said that the IQ180 was a dream to use. The touch screen display made light work of viewing all files. I could easily check to see if photographs were in focus or not via its intuitive controls. The IQ180 captures stunning extreme detail and the accurate and neutral colour rendition is phenomenal. Skin tones are alive and natural. Its 12.5 stops of dynamic range means you can reproduce shots with extreme tonal differences and adjust them accordingly.
